About 4IP Group

4IP Group LLC is a leading advisor, accredited trainer, and thought leader in impact investing in emerging and frontier markets. We offer market research, investment advisory, impact measurement and management, Accredited SDG Impact Standards Training, and investment matchmaking (i.e. capital raising) services.

We are regulated by the new Swiss Limited Liability Company Law (LLC, Sàrl, GmbH, SAgl), which came into force on 1st January 2008. As regards the incorporation of an LLC, only one founder (fondateur) is needed to comply with the new LLC Law. Under the new regulations, an LLC may be used for non-commercial purposes. Therefore, an LLC may be created for charity organizations or public utility entities.

4IP Group LLC currently employs less than 5 people and is headquartered in Founex, Terre-Sainte in the Canton of Vaud, with a further branch office in Lusaka, Zambia (Impactpreneurs Ltd), while being a minority shareholder of Waterpreneurs LLC based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Since May 2017, we have advised hundreds of traditional SMEs on how to transition towards becoming impact enterprises across 9 emerging and frontier markets (Zambia, DRC, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Mauritius) as well as Switzerland, working with more than 20 economic support organizations (incubators and accelerators). Moreover, we have trained several investment funds (VCFs) on integrating ESG/SDGs into their investment strategies and engaged many institutional investors and numerous family offices.

 

In 2023 SDG Impact and SVI developed the SDG Impact Standards Training Course for individuals in the private sector, seeking to improve their management practices within their organizations by integrating sustainability and the SDGs into their operations. The SDG Impact Standards Training Course is carried out by third-party Accredited Trainers for the SDG Impact Standards, of which 4IP Group’s managing partner, Dr. Christian Kingombe, is one of less than 20 accredited trainers covering Africa and the first one covering Switzerland, since January 2024.

During the next 3-year cycle (2024-2026) we will become a fast-growing, market-leading company, offering a dynamic work environment in the exponentially growing impact investment space which we seek to show-case e.g. through our new Impact Lions’ Den (e-pitching) series on the ENTNEST platform, where we act as a growth partner.

4IP Group is a signatory to the Swiss Development Finance Declaration, 2019 launched during the 1st Building Bridges event in 2019.

4IP Group is a member of Sustainable Finance Geneva.

4IP Group’s managing partner, Dr Christian Kingombe, has been a Board Member of The Swiss Impact Investing Association (SIIA) since 2020.

4IP Group’s managing partner, Dr Christian Kingombe, has since November 2023 been part of the Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF)-led taskforce working to set- up a Swiss National Advisory Board for Impact Investing (NABII) within the Global Steering Group network to be launched at the 5th Building Bridges in December 2024.

Moreover, Dr Christian Kingombe has acted as a coach, mentor, supervisor and advisor for respective students (at IHEID/GIIA, Bocconi, IMD, Imperial College London, HEG, University of Lusaka, and the Open University of Tanzania).

4IP Group has operated under finders/introduction agreements with venture capital funds (e.g. Darena Ventures, Enko Fund Managers Ltd, Emerging Africa Group), Launch Africa Ventures, VC Lab, and with infrastructure private equity funds (e.g. New Energy Capital Partners LLC’s Africa Utility Solar Fund, Africa Infrastructure Fund).

 Our principal office is currently in Geneva (Founex), Switzerland. We operate internationally and work with clients across the world but focused on emerging and frontier markets primarily, but not exclusively, in Africa (Zambia, Tanzania, DRC, Ghana, Nigeria, Mauritius and DRC). 

In addition to serving our clients, 4IP engages and contributes to ongoing policy-focused debate at seminars and conferences (most recently the Africa CEO Forum; UNECE People First PPPs etc.), as well as delivering capacity building PPP and Impact Investing training courses and knowledge sharing presentations to international clients
