Dr. Christian Kingombe

Christian Kingombe is a Danish–Congolese development economist and impact investing professional with over 20 years of experience across infrastructure finance, impact investing, and development policy, with a strong focus on Africa.

He is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of 4IP Group, a Switzerland-based impact investment advisory firm supporting investors, funds, and institutions in sustainable infrastructure, blended finance, and impact measurement across emerging and frontier markets.

Christian has held senior roles with leading international organisations, including the African Development Bank, OECD, UNCTAD, ILO, and UNECE, where he worked on regional infrastructure development, trade facilitation, public-private partnerships, and early frameworks that informed the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

He has advised governments, development finance institutions, and private investors on infrastructure project preparation, trade corridors, and policy reform, with assignments funded by the European Commission, GIZ, and DANIDA. His work spans West, Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa.

Christian has also been directly involved in impact fund development and management, including the 4IP Impact Infrastructure Fund, and has held senior roles in venture and impact capital initiatives focused on Africa. He is an accredited trainer for the UNDP SDG Impact Standards and brings deep expertise in impact measurement, ESG, and investment due diligence.

He holds a PhD in Applied Development and Transport Economics from Imperial College London, and degrees in economics from the University of Copenhagen. Christian is fluent in English, French, and Danish.
