The Zambia Impact Investment Summit (ZIIS) on October 9th and 10th, 2024, brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors, creating an environment ripe for collaboration and growth. Representing the 4IP Group, our Investment Assistant, Mr. Kafoyo Kamwendo, attended this landmark event to strengthen our commitment to impact-driven investment.

In his keynote address, Bank of Zambia Governor, Mr. Denny Kalyalya, unveiled the Bank’s plan to introduce a Credit Guarantee Scheme aimed at helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) overcome financial barriers by addressing the lack of collateral. The Bank of Zambia will back this initiative through a special-purpose vehicle worth K5 Billion , positioning itself as a leader with one of the few Green Finance Policies among central banks.
Ms. Mutumboi Mundia, CEO of Prospero, a supporting partner of the NABII, spoke about the summit’s achievements, particularly in supporting investment matchmaking through the NABII Zambia platform. She emphasized that these efforts have channeled significant capital to local businesses, enabling Zambian entrepreneurs to expand, innovate, and play a vital role in national development.
Adding to the momentum, Mr. Sumunza Muyangana, Chairperson of the National Advisory Board, highlighted impact investment as a solution to Zambia’s most pressing challenges, such as climate change and youth unemployment. He encouraged leveraging Zambia’s dynamic youth population to create sustainable opportunities.

One of the summit’s highlights was the pitch sessions led by Avencion and the Zambia Business Angels Network ZBAN. Entrepreneurs had the chance to present their groundbreaking ideas and receive valuable feedback, setting them on the path to growth and success. This collaborative platform is a significant boost for the future of Zambian startups, fostering innovation and creating opportunities.
